Meet Our Staff
Matthew Williams
Matt joined Hodsdon & Clifford, LLC as an associate in 2009. He grew up in Kennebunk and currently lives in
town with his wife, Christine, and two children, Luke and Stella. Matt is a general practitioner who has worked
on a wide variety of legal matters, including real estate law, family law, estate planning, business law, criminal
law, and civil litigation. His involvement with both the transactional and litigation related sides of the law
gives him a breadth of practical knowledge that leads to a better understanding of legal problems from different perspectives.
His litigation experience ranges from the successful defense of a national lender against claims brought under the Real Estate
Settlement Procedures Act and the Truth in Lending Act in federal court, to bringing Forcible Entry and Detainer actions on behalf
of landlords in local district court. His transactional experience ranges from drafting wills to forming LLCs. A former mortgage
loan originator and current title agent for Chicago Title Insurance Company and First American Title Insurance Company, Matt has
participated in numerous residential loan closings as both an attorney and a bank representative.
